First, find out exactly what your FICO score is. You can do that by getting a free copy of your credit report.
Next, look for errors in your credit report. Errors means Information about late payments, charged of accounts, collections, and judgments against you that are simply not accurate.
Next, dispute these errors on your credit report.
The last time I got a free copy of my credit report I was able to dispute these errors directly online through the web portal of the Credit Reporting agency. Every time and information was updated they would send me an e-mail.
You can also dispute this credit report errors by sending is called a credit dispute letter to your credit reporting agency and explained to them that you this agree with some of the information they are reporting.
Once a credit report they receive this dispute letter, there are required by law to investigate this information with the original lender.
